- Open-source code- code that is posted publicly online. Anyone is free to use the code for their own purposes & it is the backbone for many cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin & Ethereum.
- Cryptography- provides for secure communication in the presence of malicious third parties. It is about constructing and analyzing protocols that prevent third parties or the public from reading private messages.
